Digital Marketing for Group Activity Providers

·2 min read

The Covid-19 crisis may have triggered the fastest adoption of digital channels across many businesses. It has caught many businesses off guard as a lot of small businesses may not have any prior experience of going digital. You may also wonder, as a business offering (predominantly) in-person group activities or experiences, such as summer camps, art/ language/ sports courses, is there a need for digital marketing and if so, where do I start?

This blog post series will contain a series of knowledge nuggets that are tailored for small businesses providing group activities or in-person experiences. Many of the tips can be easily implemented and often for free. We will dive into the following key topics over the course of the next few months. I will organise the blog post into two main categories, digital marketing channels (providing useful marketing tips for different channels) and digital marketing analytics (looking at ways to improve your digital marketing effectiveness).

Digital Marketing Channels

There are a number of digital channels a business can tap into, in order to reach out to (potential) customers. We will look at some of the most common channels one by one and focus on easy-to-implement tips in order to help you start the digital marketing journey.

  1. Email Marketing
  2. Search Engine Optimisation (Part 1 - Free Search Optimisation)
  3. Search Engine Optimisation (Part 2 - Paid Google Ads)
  4. Social Media Marketing
  5. Abandoned Cart Recovery

Digital Marketing Analytics:

When a business first starts digital marketing, there is a tendency to do more: sending out emails daily/weekly, creating instagram posts, spending on Google Ads/ Facebook Ads... However, what one often forget is how to analyse each activity's effectiveness and impact on your business. We will take a look at some of the basic concepts in measuring effectiveness of digital marketing.

  1. Analyse Website Performance: Google Analytics
  2. Measuring Marketing Campaign Effectiveness

Not all the topics here are applicable to all businesses, not the least because of the different growth stage your business might be in. If you have limited budget (or no budget at all) for online marketing, the tips contained in the most of the posts are completely free and will be a good starting point if you are interested in growing your business further with digital marketing.
